I love me some books. I love to read. I used to be able to read a lot more and all the time. I can remember reading in the car as a kid and getting into trouble because I was straining my eyes in the dark just so I could finish a book. I could spend hours in a place like Barnes and Noble and never get bored. That isn’t much of the case any more. I don’t get the time like I used to for reading. I make time when I can, I usually also have access to a book just in case I have some time to kill and I want to read. Whenever we go on trips, short or long distances, but believe I have a book (or three!) and my Nook with me. The Hubs is the complete opposite and hates to read. Even instructions. Unless it is a car magazine or something that he is truly interested in, you can forget it. I have recently found a new love for baby/children’s books. Buddy already has quite the collection. We always try to read a book a night or before he goes to bed. I know he could care less, but I enjoy that time with him. The older he gets, he does seem slightly more interested in the books themselves, not necessarily the story. But pictures are fun too!
Trying to narrow down to three books was…hard! How can you only have three?! Haha!
Number 1: The Bible
I have been trying to be diligent about reading the Bible more this year. It helps that our church is doing a reading plan through the Bible and you read main scriptures during the week and our Pastor preaches a sermon over those passages on Sunday. I love this! It helps make it more real, more attainable, more enjoyable. I don’t think you could ever read this book too many times or read it over and over again without gaining something more from it each time.
Number 2: Anything from Sarah Dessen
I love her! I love her books! All of them. I have read all of these (except for her newest one) and I have even read some of them twice. I just love her writing style. It seems so real and relatable. I know these are geared more towards younger readers, and I actually started reading them when I was in high school. But I can’t stop now. I need her new one. If you have never read anything of hers, you are missing out. I highly recommend you trying one out!
Number 3: Any of the Elin Hilderbrand
I haven’t had the chance to read any of her books yet, but I just know that I would love them. Have you read any of them? Which is your favorite? Which one should I read first?
I can’t wait to read what books everyone wants to take with them. Hopefully I will get some more reading material to add to my list. I have an ongoing Pinterest board where I pin all of the books that I want to read or have read.
I hope you will link up to! Thanks for stopping by!
PS – Happy Hump Day!!
